Boxing Day flash back...

These past few days have been blissful to say the least. Waking up late…not having to go to work…relaxing with family…food…drinks…liming…sweet! Christmas Eve and the day before was spent with my mom doing errands around town and Christmas Day was wonderful. Today is Boxing Day where I am in T&T and I just came from a lime at a friend’s house.

I am now watching American Idol reruns on YouTube, which I never before viewed on television. Wow! Never knew what I was missing…what amazing talent.

A song by Jordin Sparks made me reflect on some things my friends and colleagues said at my recent Book Launch, which was really amazing. I wish I could upload the videos…but it will have to wait until I sort out my technical difficulties. Two of them said that all of us have talent and some of us never find it or allow God to use us for the benefit of mankind. They said it’s good that I have allowed that miracle to happen. Every day I am thankful for my gifts and I ask God that I am able to stay true to Him and live my inspiration every day. Jennifer Hudson said that all she ever wanted to do was sing for the world once and because of Amercan Idol she is getting to do it more than once. That's all I ever wanted to do [with my writing] and I'm getting to do it everyday because of modern technology, determination and my readers.

Another song made me reflect on my own life and the people in it. Throughout the past few weeks I realized that so many of us carry around burdens and hurt that have been unresolved. Some of us are hiding from different things…some from ourselves, some from love…some of us are just afraid of what could be waiting for us around the corner. And I’m not only talking about physical danger but the intangible things that do not pose physical harm. Some of us are afraid of ourselves…of what lies within us…I may even be guilty of that. Sometimes what is needed is some soul searching in order to find that much needed healing to mend that space within ourselves or in our lives. That epiphany that can lead to our “moment of truth” to find the key to unlock/remove that distance we’ve been placing between ourselves and others that prevent us from letting go of our fear or in some cases our hurtful past. Sometimes we pray for an answer and we think God doesn’t heed our call but sometimes he does indeed work in mysterious ways. And although he may not bring us exactly what we want, if we look deeper we may realize that he has sent a real blessing in disguise and it is exactly what we need in order to evolve to that next level in order to find peace.

Much of what I’m saying may not make sense to some but somewhere out there, it may be exactly what someone needs to hear.

Can you relate? Please post your comments...

Christmas Wishes

It's Christmas Eve where I am and the hours are counting down to the Big day - Christmas Day...I had something really special planned for my online viewers but it did not work out:( I was trying to upload a clip from my Book Launch - a book reading entitled The True Meaning of Christmas but it came up with an error...too bad. Until I figure out what's going wrong ...it will have to wait regretfully.

Whatever last minute finishing touches you're making on the turkey or perhaps wrapping the gifts....hope it's memorable. Every year we try to make it more special than the last but let's try this year to live in the moment and enjoy those special moments while it's here. I plan to do just that as I celebrate with family.

Yes Christmas is here once again! Let us rejoice for a King is born. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas filled with abundant peace, love & joy!

Book Launch niceness:D

Hello All,

To all my readers that have been following my blog for the past few months I have a special treat for you. For the new visitors, I'm a new author and my Book Launch was last Saturday 17th December, 2011. It was one of the most exciting times of my life and I feel truly blessed to have so many wonderful people supporting me. To hear the nice things that were said was truly amazing. One of my friends joked and said I was lucky to hear my own eulogy while still alive! lol. But to all the persons who attended...heartfelt thanks and the ones who could not make it ...I know your thoughts were with me. There is some delay with the videos but here are some photos to get you started!

Enjoy!

Christmas is almost here...Are you ready??!

Christmas is soon approaching and we have but 1 more day left...Are you ready to receive Him?!

Had a day off from work today and the streets, malls and supermarkets were filled to capacity. Everyone is super busy cleaning, painting and scrubbing, decorating, baking, cooking and shopping away. At times we wonder what is all of this for. Is it that we don't do these things the rest of the year? Many times we forget the 'reason for the season' amidst all the chaos and festivities. The tradition is nice but do we remember what the celebration is for in the first place? Christmas marks the birth of a Saviour who was born to wash away all of our sins and give us eternal life. If we truly believe this then we would render our hearts and not the whole commercial part of the season. I too try not to allow myself to get caught up but it is indeed a special time of year to commemorate with family and friends especially ones that you haven't seen for quite a while. If Jesus were to meet us in the flesh, would you be ready to welcome Him into your hearts? Is your heart ready to receive Him? For it would not matter if you lived in a mansion and served Him a feast but rather a humble heart and home would win the King of Kings.

Whatever you're doing remember to give a gift of love this Christmas whichever form it takes...whether it's monetary or a meal, a feeling or time shared. You are fortunate and blessed and you ought to share it with others.

Make it count!!
