Howdy from Dallas, Texas!! It's been a great few days. The people are friendly here, weather is cool...a bit hot at times...I'm told it gets hotter but nothing I'm not accustomed to! We're 1 hour behind but that just means I get more zZzz. Here's are a couple pics from my first week! Enjoy:-)

Tribute to Donna Summer

Another legend dies. This time it's the Queen of Disco. Although I was a bit too young for that era, I know almost all the words to most of her songs. That's what music does for/to you. Music is timeless.

Condolences to MS. Donna Summer's family, friends and fans. We shall surely miss her. RIP

Please follow the link for one of her mind blowing hits--->

A Tribute to MOM

Happy Mother's Day to all those mums who have experienced the joys of motherhood or serve the role of Mother! A special greeting to those celebrating Mother's Day for the first time.

The following is an excerpt taken from my new book - THINKING OUT LOUD

To all the Moms around the world especially my Mom

She…
Knows what we’re thinking without us having to utter a word
Serves multiple roles – mom, sister, best friend, boss
Believes in you even if no one else does
Can’t stay upset for longer than 24 hours
Offers the best advice although you may not always admit it
Has the fortitude and willpower representing generations of strong women
Has made endless sacrifices and would give away her last possession for her family
Embodies truth, determination, courage and discipline
Makes the best meals, fudge and fruitcake to cure any human condition
Allow you to make your own decisions even after she has offered her pearls of wisdom
Mom we love and thank you.

Amazing Reviews!

Have a great weekend everyone. Been having an excellent few weeks, for this I am exuberant and grateful. That explains my absence. As I always say, if you're going through a rut, it's sometimes useful to look at your life as if you were on the outside. What would someone say about your life if they were looking on from the outside? What are all the things you need to be thankful for? I'm sure you can find at least 5. With that said, a little change of perspective and a close circle of people that are truly genuine would go a long way for your psyche and spiritual enrichment. I always find that helps. Negative/false people always seem to wear you down and make you less productive.

One thing that matters when you end each day is that you achieve what you set out to do...you live your passion and are able to help others as a result. I feel so fulfilled by the knowledge that my book is helping many people find their niche/true purpose and learn more about themselves. In the process I also discovered more about myself. I've been getting really good reviews from my readers and nothing could make me happier. Many people have expressed to me that they did not know that anyone else was experiencing the same  emotions and sentiments and it's a comfort to them.  Yesterday I was even told by someone I recently met that I was their "motivation/inspiration and mentor!" A-ma-zing. That means that I achieved my objective for writing my book.

I will like to share with you what one reader wrote on amazon:

Customer Review

5.0 out of 5 stars Embracing Life, April 20, 2012

"This short novel reflects the lives of individuals and how common traits are shared among strangers from various backgrounds, it provides thoughts that many of us have daily but are too afraid or have repressed emotions so we stray from what needs to be said to another. The concept is beautifully put - it touches on life's bountiful choices where we as adolescents ignore and as we approach the mark of adulthood we scramble to organize; realizing the time is passing quickly. The book describes special moments in life that we share with family members', friends and loved ones close to our heart, it explains the value of time and why waiting may have consequences. The author described her journey of life eloquently, she expressed her memories of great times with friends and she expressed how her father and mother's love was always unconditional, that when she needed a laugh or a shoulder they were there regardless of the circumstance no critique, the encouragement was her inspiration.

In closing I would have to say it touched me dearly, it encouraged me to reflect on my own life's journey and my hidden fears of what is to come and what has passed me by, I would recommend this short novel to anyone wanting inspiration and a smile."

Have a blessed night:)

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Hola,

Just a note to say a Happy cinco de Mayo for all those who are celebrating the Battle of Puebla today! It's an important date in Mexican history as Mexico won a valiant victory in 1862 over the French whose army was much bigger and stronger.

May is here!

So we're in the month of May!! Can you believe it? Almost mid-year...don't you remember Christmas like it was just yesterday?? Christmas, (Trinidad & Tobago) Carnival, Lent, Easter................Wow! Where did the time go!?

My message tonight is to savour the moments...because when it's gone it cannot be recaptured. In our constant rush to get from one thing or one place to the next...do we often find ourselves having regrets? Regrets for having missed those important milestones in our lives like: our parents 40th anniversary...or our best friend's bridal shower, our child's first word or first step...first dance recital or school play? In this technological age where everyone is connected in the virtual world, is this really enough?

True connections are ones that we can reach out and touch (no I'm not going to break into song:), give a hug, lend a hand or provide a shoulder to lean or cry on. It's about telling stories or jokes or playing a game. It's about having fun at the beach or going hiking. It's teaching a young one to count or tie a shoe lace (yourself as a parent). It's mastering the art of forgiveness and saying you're sorry or being around for that last goodbye...

It is important to ensure that we are present for these events in our lives and not just show up. Be fully aware of the moment you are in, marvel in all it's spendour and make every second count. One day you will be glad you did as you reflect on your golden memories of a time that's irreplaceable.

As we look towards this new month of May and all that it offers...let's always remember to Make it Count!
 Cheers!
