The end of holidays :(

Today is officially the end of the summer vacation and it signals many things. Although I'm sad to see it go I must say it was a good holiday season. It's always a more relaxed period since us working folk get to sleep a little longer as school is on vacation and the roads are less congested. Less traffic is alwasy good! The world's children get a little freedom from studying and enjoy the beach and parties with their friends....teachers also get an extended 2 month vacation. But all good things must come to an end. The new school term starts soon and some students are moving onto new schools, a chance to make new friends...forge friendships that may possibly last a lifetime....learn lessons which will form a foundation for future growth and evolution. The parang and Christmas seasons are right around the corner also and of course who doesn't look forward to that for it is one of the happiest times of the year to share with family and friends and celebrate the birth of our Saviour! It's a time when there's just a little extra "something" in the air. Love it...can't wait! But lets enjoy the last remnants of August and remember it for all it's worth...for we have to wait until next year to see it again!

Our nation also celebrates it's 49th Independence and to this we pay tribute to our founding fathers for making it all possible. Our melting pot nation has brought all diverse cultures and ethnicities together and this forms the basis of our land's credo: "Together we aspire, together we achieve." Let's continue to work together so as to reap the rewards of a harmonious and successfully independent nation.

Happy Independence TnT!

The world also celebrates Eid ul Fitr...to all our Muslim brothers and sisters: Eid Mubarak!
