Some things in life are better off unspoken. Like two colleagues or family members who don't speak to each other unless it's absolutely necessary. At times you wonder about the interactions you have on a daily basis and whether or not they are genuine. Things may happen for you to realize at times who you should hold close and the ones you keep at arms length. I love to quote these old colloquial expressions and indeed the old people warned that "not all grin teeth is a smile." I've come to realize this more and more as time progresses. Sometimes it's perplexing trying to figure people out and wondering who are really "for you" and have your best interests at heart. Sometimes you may learn this the hard way, perhaps even years later. There's a real thin line between friends and enemies.
My friends sometimes call me a cynic but we do in fact live in a cynical world. Trust is a funny thing...you have to earn it and learn to trust yourself above all. I've learnt with time however to let my guard down long enough for pleasant surprises to occur. Other times you just have to trust your instincts, go with the flow and live in the moment. Otherwise life would be no fun, if you're constantly on the look out for someone to falter. Situations may present themselves in your life but you determine how you handle it and whether you allow it to control you. With that said, there comes a time when we must put the past away and learn to discern the people and situations around us without masking our emotions.
"Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none."
William Shakespeare
